July 2003, Jan (pd2jmr), Gerard (pd2gs) Frans (pa5ca) and Jelmer (pa5r) drove to Goerree Overflake, EU-146
Jan and Gerard drove down one day earlier so they could have an early start. Frans and Jelmer left early in the morning it takes about 3 hours to get to EU-146 and the contest begins at 12:00 UTC. Setting up the station
and sleeping facilities took us just over 3 hours... and a few shopping's where needed. Stuff for the famous BBQ and stuff to take us over the weekend.
Contest: After setting up the station, which was nothing more than a note book computer, Kenwood TS950SDX
and a linear amplifier SB220. The antenna just a Windom at 12 meters... for 15 meter we had a additional dipole. At 12:00 UTC the first contacts where logged in CT v9.82
Propagation:
Was okay...only our antenna situation was far from optimum, Windom for 10, 20, 40 and 80 meter a simple dipole for 15 meter..that was all we had...
For the whole contest we had no complains, all went well and we had lots of fun.
Contacts: We where able to log 1200 qso's in our log, using CT by K1EA version 9.82 N1MM was not in the picture at that
moment.. If we notice that we worked only in SSB the result is excellent
